Darjeeling Second Flush is one of the most sought-after teas in the world, often referred to as the “Champagne of teas.” This tea comes from the Darjeeling region in the foothills of the Himalayas, an area known for its unique soil and ideal climate for tea production. The tea has a glistening, rich orange and golden infusion.
This premium tea is characterized by a rich and nectar-like mouthfeel. The taste is complex and rich, with a strong accent of muscatel – a taste comparable to the sweetness and aroma of muscat grapes. In addition, one can experience nuances of tropical fruits and exotic flowers.
Our Darjeeling Second Flush grows at high altitudes, around 1500 metres above sea level, and is harvested in June, during the so-called "second flush" period. This harvest gives the tea its characteristic fullness and depth, which distinguishes it from the lighter "first flush" harvest that takes place earlier in the year.
The English founded the Darjeeling tea plantations in the 19th century, searching for an area in India where they could grow quality tea. They quickly discovered that the combination of fertile soil, cool, misty climate and high altitudes of Darjeeling was perfect for producing a tea with a distinctive flavour.
Darjeeling tea is unique not only because of its growing conditions, but also because of the meticulous production process that follows each harvest. The leaves are carefully picked and processed to preserve their natural aromas, resulting in a tea that is rich in flavor and aroma.
Organic black tea
An organic product is produced in a way that takes the environment into account by not using chemical and synthetic pesticides. It's good for the planet, but also for the tea, the farmer and you. By buying organic teas, you support healthy and long-term tea production.
NO-ØKO-01
We are proud to be the largest Norwegian brand importer of organic tea. To be approved by Debio and use the definition Organic, not only must the ingredients be certified organic, but our own plant must also be certified by Debio and controlled by Mattsilynet.
In addition to import controls from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, we go beyond the requirements by also taking random samples for pesticides/pesticides and other pollutants.
It is important that tea is stored protected from air and light. That's why we sell all our teas packed in tight aluminum bags with a zip lock.
