This is a somewhat unusual variety of white tea, consisting only of buds, which are harvested by hand from high altitude tea bushes and selected for their considerable "youth". While most teas are picked with both the bud and the leaves of the tea plant, Silver buds (and Silver needle ) are made only with the buds. Buds, also called buds or needles , are the youngest part of the tea plant and are full of goodies.
The taste is light but with some complexity. It has a floral and hayy aroma that hits first and a deeper melon aroma that comes later. The taste is juicy and delicious.
White tea is the least processed, yet most expensive of all tea types. It is produced in the simplest possible way - picked and dried.
White tea comes from the delicate, unripe bud and/or leaves. Due to the minimal processing, white tea retains catechins (antioxidants) and can also have a high caffeine content because it consists of fresh shoots. White tea has the same healthy and good properties as green tea. Since white tea is harvested with young leaves, they do not contain the same amount of chlorophyll as green tea and therefore do not taste as vegetal.
Organic white tea
An organic product is produced in a way that takes the environment into account by not using chemical and synthetic pesticides. It's good for the planet, but also for the tea, the farmer and you. By buying organic teas, you support healthy and long-term tea production.
NO-ØKO-01
We are proud to be the largest Norwegian brand importer of organic tea. To be approved by Debio and use the definition Organic, not only must the ingredients be certified organic, but our own plant must also be certified by Debio and controlled by Mattsilynet.
In addition to import controls from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, we go beyond the requirements by also taking random samples for pesticides/pesticides and other pollutants.
It is important that tea is stored protected from air and light. That's why we sell all our teas packed in tight aluminum bags with a zip lock.
